Most of the larger hotels put on some
form of entertainment for their guests in the evenings
during the peak season months of November to April. This
could take the form of Fire Eaters or large African Dance
Troups. This may be reduced to just a single Kora player,
whilst you eat or relax in the bar during the off-peak
months of May to October.
Out and about, there is an expanding number of bars and nightclubs most of which play live music throughout the week. Our favourite band, by far, is the Batin International Band, who play popular West African music and can be found most nights at the Kombo Beach Hotel (in peak season). ALSO, we have a new Bicycle Man in The Gambia - catch him out and about on the roads around the coastal area (or at a hotel) and marvel at his repertoire of tricks! |
